Self-motivation is the best kind of motivation. It is also that type which comes once in a blue moon. There are a few things that one can do to keep them on track and move in the direction of achieving their goals.
1. Connect With Your Vision Every Morning
Everyone has dreams but if you really want to achieve something you need to have a clear visual picture of it in your mind. Fill in every single detail. Now every morning, when you wake up, keep this vision of yourself in front of you. Visualize it as if you have already achieved all that you want. This will fire up your levels of motivation and make you want to get out of bed.
2. Gratitude Journaling
Now, this is not just about writing down the things you are grateful. We all should be grateful for that. This is about listing the bad events that happened to you. Did you get fired? Well, then what is the one thing you can be grateful for that happened because of the situation? Maybe now you can explore your passion or maybe you realized you are not financially ready for such setbacks. This is not an easy thing to do. But it helps you to change your mindset and aids learning.
3. Review Time
Most successful people review their actions and think of better ways to do the same thing. Take 15 minutes in the evening to review your day. What all did you do? What could you have done better? Where could you have utilized your time in a more productive way? Take note of everything.
4. Take Action
Action is not only the effect but also the cause of motivation. We tend to sit on our couch waiting for motivation to hit us. But it doesn’t work that way. If you want to write a novel, don’t sit there waiting for motivation to come to you and whisper the plot in your ear. It won’t happen until you sit in front of your computer and write something. Here, trying is a success. So it will surely help to trigger your inspiration. So the trick to get motivated for anything is to start, even if it is being done unwillingly.
